The Parco Nazionale Cinque Terre, comprises 5 exceptional villages, all set in the cliffs and sea facing. A rail network runs along the coast and a travel pass allows you to get on and off as you wish, boats also go up and down the coast and a travel pass can be purchased for those as well, trekking from village to village is popular.
The villages are all magnificent, there are also lots of opportunities for photography, walking, snacking, eating good lunches and dinner. A starting point is Levanto rail station, there is also accommodation in many of the villages. From Levanto there a quick train service to Genoa and other cities.
